Hailing from a Notting Hill gallery, Susie Watson Designs fits in perfectly on Alresford high street, surrounded by other similarly excellent independents, and has only added to my list of very good reasons to divert to Alresford on occasional shopping excursions. Walk into Susie’s shop and you’ll be transported to the palace of domestic goddess. It’s cosy country chic done to perfection. All light and bright, subtle pastels and prints, you’ll find ideas to brighten up every room in the house among the range of charming ceramics and linens.

I’m particularly smitten with the rolls of traditionally dyed and hand-loomed fabrics which are sold by the meter and have planned many gorgeous cushions and curtains in my head – adorned with the pretty pompoms and braids on offer which I cannot resist!
